BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Ravid works with children, adolescents, and their families at the Evidence Based Treatment Centers of Salt Lake City (EBTSL). He also specializes in working with adults with Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders. He is also the Co-Director of Research and Outcomes Monitoring at the Evidence Based Treatment Centers of Seattle (EBTCS).

Dr. Ravid is a clinical psychologist with advanced training and specialization in the treatment of anxiety and related disorders. He has considerable training in the treatment of youth with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and disruptive behavior disorders.

Dr. Ravid completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley where he majored in psychology and political science. After graduation, he worked in Southern California for three years as a behavioral specialist providing behavioral services for children and adolescents with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). His work at Autism Partnership with youth and their families set the stage for his pursuing graduate education aimed at helping families meet their individual goals using state of the art evidence-based techniques.

Dr. Ravid received his MS and PhD in clinical psychology from Binghamton University-SUNY in New York State. It was very cold there. Clinically, he enjoyed working with children, adolescents, and families on a wide range of issues and he received considerable training and experience working with children with ASD, ADHD, academic difficulties, anxiety and related disorders, and OCD. His research focused on the core motivational features of OCD symptoms in children and adolescents. Other research interests include factors affecting the development and maintenance of anxiety and OCD, the ability for youth to identify disorders in the early stages so they can seek help as soon as possible, and strategies for helping people who do not feel they benefited from initial treatment attempts.

Dr. Ravid completed his doctoral internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute through the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. It was cold in Baltimore too. While on internship Dr. Ravid received training through the Child and Family Therapy Clinic and the Behavior Management Clinic. Common themes across these trainings included helping parents, teens, and kids learn to reach their emotional and behavioral goals while decreasing family hostility and increasing positive communication. Dr. Ravid completed a postdoctoral fellowship in child and adolescent anxiety at EBTCS and worked there for 6 years before he and his family moved to Salt Lake City in 2021. It is cold here too.

Dr. Ravid is a licensed psychologist in the states of Utah and Washington, and is a member of several professional organizations, including the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) and the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF). When not at work, Dr. Ravid enjoys running, swimming, cycling, rock climbing, and sleeping.
